About First Came Twins
I'm Chloe Marsden — mom of boy/girl twins who just turned one, married to a man who learned to make two bottles one-handed by week three, and a former hospital unit coordinator. Six years of running a hospital unit taught me the thing this whole site is built on: when the workload doubles, you don't work twice as hard — you run a better board. I schedule like a charge nurse, minus the pager.
Twins are not "a baby, but more." They're a logistics category of their own: two babies on one clock, sixteen bottles a day at peak, a feeding position that requires equipment, and a stroller decision that involves measuring doorways. That's what this site covers — the two-babies-at-once mechanics. Real numbers, what actually worked at our house, what we returned, and zero twin-mom martyrdom. You'll notice a color code everywhere: Baby A runs coral, Baby B runs teal. It started as how we told bottles apart in a 3am haze, and it turned out to be the single most useful system in the house, so the whole site runs on it.
The lanes: twin sleep for same-room training and the one-sleeps-one-doesn't problem, schedules for sample days and syncing (start with the newborn twin schedule hub), feeding two for tandem, bottle and combo setups, pregnancy & prep for the expecting-twins runway, and twin gear for what you genuinely need two of.
One thing I am not: a medical authority. Twin pregnancy and twin newborns come with real medical questions, and those belong to your OB, your MFM, and your pediatrician — I'll say so plainly every time a topic gets near that line. What I can offer is the logistics layer underneath: the schedules, setups and gear decisions nobody covers in an appointment.
A housekeeping note for long-time internet residents: this domain has been a twin blog before — a lovely Boston twin-family diary that ran here from 2008 to about 2012, then went dark, and the domain drifted through some unloved years after that. It's now under entirely new stewardship: everything you'll read here is new, written by me, and the old diary's spirit — twin logistics, honestly reported — is the only thing we've kept.
